Things worth saying

"Men Without Courage"
He said he wanted love,
But what he wanted was appeasement.
Something gentle enough to keep him from facing himself.
He became afraid of my strength,
And what it might ask him to elevate into.

So he ran back toward that woman who wouldn't ask him to rise.
It was comfort;
the kind that comes from not having to grow.

It's not that she's better,
it's that she's smaller in all of the ways that makes him feel big.
And I was never meant to shrink myself to fit that kind of love.

He didn't chose her over me;
he chose comfort over courage,
control over connection,
safety over truth.

And one day, he'll call it regret;
the moment he realizes,
the love that scared him most
was the only one that ever could have saved him.

Verses & Reflections

"The Cruelest Betrayal"
There is no cruelty greater than winning the trust of a woman who has carried her life alone;
Who has already survived cruelty disguised as love,
And making her believe she is finally safe, only to fail her again.
It is a cruelty that lives beyond apology.
That kind of pain doesn't just break her;
It empties something inside her that will never return, and takes the light with it.
Some heartbreaks don't just ache;
They erase a part of her that can never be rebuilt.
She trusted him with the softest part of her story, the one she spent years surviving, that he was a witness to;
A friend, a confidant.
Only to be betrayed by him,
the friend she trusted the longest.
And so she finds herself reduced,
Until even hope sounded like a language she once knew.

Where thoughts Rest

He didn’t just break her heart, he reopened wounds she had always trusted him to protect.

He may genuinely love you and still have used you. Love doesn't automatically make a person capable of acting with integrity. Many people love deeply but still choose cowardice, comfort and self-preservation over honesty and personal truth. It's not a reflection of her worth, it's a reflection of his limits.
It was my mistake;
To hand you my heart to break
